Turning Dreams into Legacy

From the day we embarked on this journey, nothing has been easy. I started working in tourism in 2012. It was more than just a job to me; it was an opportunity to connect with people from around the world and gain a deeper perspective on life. In 2017, my wife and I opened our first hostel in Kashan. ‘The Green House’ was a place where strangers became friends and even family.

A year later, our dreams grew bigger. We opened a second hostel, ‘The House of Architecture,’ where travelers could experience the authentic essence of Iranian culture. The success of these two projects taught us that love, creativity, and culture know no boundaries.

The Green House and The House of Architecture were places where strangers said hello, stories were shared, and cultures found meaning together.

The Fig House

When Dreams Found Their Roots

But our dreams didn’t end there. We wanted to create something beyond a guesthouse. A place where people could not only stay but also feel, experience, and become a part of something bigger. That’s when we found The Fig House: a 150-year-old treasure with an ancient fig tree that seemed to whisper the stories of generations gone by.

t the beginning of 2020, the world faced the pandemic. All hostels were shut down, travels ceased, and our dreams felt like they were suddenly put on hold. But instead of giving up, we chose to take a leap of faith. We sold our apartment, poured our entire life savings into this project, and moved into a rental home. Everything now centered on one vision: restoring The Fig House. Amid these challenges, every step we took was driven by hope for the future.

Reviving History

The past three years have been filled with unimaginable challenges. From day one, it was all about breathing life back into this historic building. Every single day, we lived with this project—restoring broken walls, fixing worn-out ceilings, and bringing the pieces of this house back to life. This wasn’t just about construction; this house had a soul, and we wanted it to shine again. The craftsmanship of local artisans, the intricate details of Persian architecture, and every fragment of this journey served as a reminder of why we chose this path.

A Promise Woven into the Soul of The Fig House

On one of those long days working on the restoration, we realized that this project was far bigger than just the two of us. The Fig House wasn’t merely a personal mission—it was a social mission. This was a place where life and stories could intertwine, especially for those who rarely get the chance to tell theirs. My wife, Zahra, who has been living with type 1 diabetes since she was 11, deeply understands the struggles that come with this condition. She knows what it means to fight this battle in a country where children without adequate family support, resources, or guidance face even greater challenges.

It was in those moments of reflection and hope that we made a heartfelt promise: 20% of all income from The Fig House would always be dedicated to orphaned, underserved, and under-supported children living with type 1 diabetes. These are children who fight courageously every day yet still need support to face their futures. This promise was not just a financial commitment—it became a part of the house’s spirit. The Fig House became not just a host for memories and past stories but a beacon of hope for those waiting for a brighter future.
